Until April 2019, when Anki Robotics (the creator of Overdrive) filed for bankruptcy after losing a critical round of funding from investors. Investors were the only thing keeping the company alive, and their Cozmo robot was the only product they made that ever made a profit.

But in December 2019, Digital Dream Labs (a company previously known for its Puzzlets tile and board for the education of small children) bought the assets of Anki Robotics, including Drive, Overdrive, Cozmo, and Vector.

However, they severely messed up their chance for fame. They made extravagant promises for new generations of all the mainline products, yet only one product was ever made, Vector 2.0.
